Concept of Physical Chemistry includes the syllabus of Calcutta University, Burdwan University in particular, and all Indian universities. It is prescribed for undergraduate courses. In general 51 units have been used. Terms of common non-51 units have also been used in the book. A large number of solved and unsolved problems have been added. Dr. Jyotirmay Lahiri, M.Sc., Ph.D (Cal), began his career as a lecturer in chemistry and served Banwarilal Bhalotia College, Asansol, Burdwan, West Bengal for 35 years continuously and taught physical chemistry to B.Sc. (Hons.) and B.Sc. (General) students. He also served B.C. College, Asansol, Kulti College, Near Asansol, Asansol Engineering College for more than 5 years. At present he is associated with Gupta College of Technological Sciences (G.T.S.) B.Pharma. and M.Pharma. College as Registrar. He utili sed the library of University of South Florida, USA for higher learning and to enrich the topics as written in the book. He retired as Principal i.e. Teacher-in-charge from B.B. College, Asansol in 2002. He acted as Theoretical Examiner, Paper-setter in Burdwan University and Vidyasagar University. He was also examiner in Calcutta University for few years. He taught environmental chemistry at Asansol Engineering College, Asansol, Burdwan. He is the author of several research papers and is still active in research fields.
